Job Description:

The apprentice assists the fitter or foreman in laying out, positioning and fitting together pipe, fittings, flanges, etc. preparatory to assembly.

Must demonstrate a working knowledge of tools, fittings, material grades and torque specifications used for pipe and structural assemblies. Must be able to interpret drawings, execute fitting take-offs, prep pipe, fabricate, hydrostatic testing and install basic piping systems with minimal guidance from the journeyman.

Must demonstrate the ability to plan, stage tools, materials and equipment and execute basic piping installation jobs.

Job Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Able to communicate well, understanding and following direction.
High mechanical aptitude.
Able to work alone if necessary.
Reading and understanding blue prints.
Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects.
Must be able to work on ladders and in high places.
Current driver's license required with a good driving record.
Promote safety and teamwork.

Travel may be required.

Relocation: is not provided.

Reports To: Sprinkler Fitter Superintendent.
